So, it's been forever since I last posted. Mainly because I haven't had shit to post.
I haven't lost any and I can't even remember what I weighed during my last post. But as of today I'm at 191.7. I'm sure that's up from then but I don't feel like looking. Because if it is it's not by much which is a really good thing. Heh
But I have a feeling I'll start to lose even if it's really slowly. I got braces on my upper teeth yesterday. And with all the things I shouldn't eat and the fact that I'm supposed to brush my teeth after each eating I see myself eating a lot less than normal. Gone will be the days that I mindlessly snack "just because." I'll actually be thinking, "Is this worth brushing my teeth over?" Plus they don't want me having citrusy stuff very often. Since Diet Mt. Dew is citrusy I have a feeling I'll be drinking a lot less of it now.
I'll be wearing braces for approximately 2 years. Ugh!!
Back when I was 12 and in gym class playing floor hockey a girl high sticked and hit me square in the front of the mouth. It shattered one of my bottom teeth. There was just the slightest bit of tooth sticking out. So I saw an oral surgeon who performed a root canal and put a crown on.
Four years later when we moved to Louisiana and got a new dentist with the x-rays he discovered that the surgery wasn't done correctly and it was causing an infection that I didn't even know about. It had been draining into my system for who knows how long. Plus the crown wasn't even a permanent one. So how it lasted four years who knows.
So I had another root canal and this time a root canal for each tooth on either side of it because of the damage they took because of the infection. And a permanent crown was used, only for the one tooth though. Still have the other teeth, they're just a little grey now from the root damage.
But because of the original botched job I still have issues over the years. Evey now and then an infection will still crop up.
So last December my dentist said it was time that it got extracted and since my bottom teeth are close enough together and the hole it would leave will be small enough that she figured braces to move the teeth to fill in the gap would be preferred over putting in another crown.
So this December I finally got off my ass and made the calls to the oral surgeon and orthodontist. Since I have a major overbite the orthodontist said I need to correct it before the extraction. Because any braces put on the bottom would just be destroyed by my upper teeth.
So, I'll have to wear these upper ones for approximately 4 months. Once he's satisfied it's been corrected enough he'll recommend the extraction and braces on the bottom.
Sucks big time. But I could barely eat anything yesterday because it actually hurt to chew. Today is much better but still not the best yet. Hopefully by Sunday I'll be back to chewing normally as my family is getting together for Christmas then.
So yeah, with it hurting and all, which it will with each adjustment and the limited items I can have anyway I'm hoping it'll promote at least a little weight loss. And in the new year once all the "crazy" has ended from the holidays and my grandma-in-law passing I'll be able to actually get back to working out regularly.
We got an Xbox with kinect and a work out "game" to use with it. And of course I still have my elliptical and treadmill.
I doubt I'll get back on here before the new year so have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
