So, yep, still a joke when it comes to keeping this blog up and doing what I need to do to ever lose the weight.
Although, I have lost 10 pounds since my last post in the summer. Haven't really done much to do so. Other than eating more chicken for lunch than other things. But admittedly it's chicken fingers so they're still fried and I have fries with them. Hmmm, weird that I could lose weight eating these at least a couple times a week when I used to eat frozen dinners with a side of fruit just about every day before.
Anyway, HDT started in November not eating sweets at all and not snacking after dinner. He still has sugar though such as the creamer in his coffee. He's just not eating cookies, brownies, cake, etc. We used to just about every day after dinner have some kind of desert. But since he quit eating them I in turn had to stop as well. Well, I didn't have to stop but it wouldn't be nice if I'd eat something sweet in front of him. Besides it would be good for me to do as well so I did.
I very rarely "snacked" after dinner though so that wasn't anything to worry about with me. But on his days off he'd stay up till midnight or later and would inevitably end up eating leftovers if there were any or finding some chips or something to snack on. Now since he doesn't want to eat anything after dinner is done he's actually coming to bed sooner which makes me really happy.
Him staying up so late bugged me to no end. It wasn't healthy for him to do so. He'd stay up late then he'd sleep late and on the night before he'd have to go to work he'd get very little sleep because he wouldn't be tired when he should be so therefore he'd be up late. And then start it all over again on his next day off. And when you work two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on and three days off then repeat that's a lot of non good sleep that wreaks havoc on your body. So yeah, he's still staying up a little late but nothing like he had been. And since we moved any kind of snacking item that we do have, pita chips or the like, upstairs out of sight it's easier for him not to snack even when he does stay up late.
I still eat sweets, I haven't given them up completely. I just don't do it at home and since I was never a big sweets eater at work or anywhere else anyway I've benefited just from the no eating at home rule. Since November 16th or so when I quit doing it, he stopped on the 10th, I've lost 4.5 pounds. I am now down to 185.8 as of this morning. So that's 4.5 in four weeks, pretty damn good really.
So now I have to start the exercising and that'll help even more. When I exercise it makes me want to eat better and keep track of my calories. When I don't exercise I can't seem to care as much.
So although I haven't been a good weight loser and blogger of said weight loss or gain I'm going to try to be. Again. We shall see how it goes. Again.
Oh how I'd love to be able to get away without exercise or eating more healthily but I can't. So here's my journey, the good, the bad and the ugly.

What a joke
So I don't even know the last time I posted. I suck, in more ways than one.
I haven't been posting though because I haven't been doing anything consistently enough to even write about.
I bought and used a kettlebell a few times. It is a three stage bell from Empower. You have your main bell which is 5lbs then can add a 3lb to go to 8lbs, then a 4lb to go 12lbs. It also came with a DVD to work along with.
The few times I did it it definitely kicked my ass. I enjoyed it too, as much as anyone can enjoy working out that is. I just have to make myself get back into it. I like the fact that the chick doing the video is an older lady, maybe in her 50's and isn't a skinny minny gorgeous chick. Although, don't get me wrong, she's very fit. She's just not a skinny minny chick I don't want to watch.
I've done the elliptical a few times as well but nowhere near as much as I should.
So yeah, I'm hovering around 195 again. Or maybe still. I didn't bother going back to my previous posts to find out what I was the last time I posted.
I was really hoping that having a blog about it would help motivate me. Ha, what a joke that turned out to be.
But at least HDT and I have begun taking Poydras for a walk in the evenings. We're trying to do it every day. When we just do the circle around the neighborhood it's just slightly less than a mile. When we take a detour and go around the park or back up one of the streets it'll reach or just go over a mile. As we continue doing it we'll make more than one cycle around or branch out and go into another neighborhood.
Yesterday when we were 3/4 of the way done it started to rain. By the time we got home we were pretty well soaked but it was warm enough that it wasn't that bothersome. We did make it in just in time though just a minute after being home it was pouring.
So yeah, I'm a joke when it comes to losing weight. I want to, it's just hard to stay with it. Once I can establish the habit I'll be much better. Knowing I can do it helps, since I was able to a few years back and lost those 26lbs then. So I know I can, I just have to make myself again.

Resolutions suck but I've set one anyway
So, in the two weeks since the braces I've lost two pounds to 189.6. I like it. Although I'm sure being a little sick and not wanting to eat much more than soup a lot of the time helped with that. Heh
It hurts to chew still. Some days have been really painful which are the days I'd only eat soup and maybe some bread.
Last night I made a pizza for dinner and was able to chew on the left side ok. My right side even just a little bite down hurt really bad. Today at lunch I had a burger and some fries. I was able to chew on both sides with only a little pain. So maybe by tomorrow it'll be gone, fingers crossed.
My New Year's "resolution" as usual was to start exercising again. Haven't done it though because of being sick. Although I'm finally starting to feel better. So as long as I'm able to go up my stairs without being winded by Saturday I'll try out the exercise "game" we got for the Kinect.
I think I'm going to work up a routine using the "game," the elliptical, the treadmill, and maybe the adventure land game we have for the Kinect as well. That way I can't get bored and my body won't get in a rut. Especially because there are so many choices in the exercise "game" to do. There's typical workout routines, dancing, weights, etc.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to 2013 being the year I finally get off my ass and stay off it.
And I'm hoping to get HDiTty to come along.
